I love drawing in Photoshop, but it’s time-consuming work because you’ll keep repeating the drawing and erasing to get the best result possible.
I used to do wall illustrations for a gym, it literally took me five weeks to finish the whole project and the most time-consuming part was sketching at the beginning. Once it’s done, editing and coloring were quite easy.
Well, don’t freak out! If you’re not doing a sticky required illustration project, you don’t have to spend hours drawing because Photoshop does the job for you!
What’s the deal? Download the file below for free and turn your photos into line drawings.
Now that you have the atn file downloaded, it’s time for actions!
How to Add Actions in Photoshop (4 Quick Steps)
Note: Screenshots are taken from Adobe Photoshop CC 2021 Mac version. Windows and other versions might look slightly different.
Step 1: Open the photo you want to turn into a line drawing.
Step 2: Install actions in Photoshop.

Step 3: Go to Windows > Actions and find Line Drawing actions.

That’s it!
If you are not happy with the sketch lines, want to make it thicker, lighter, or anything modification you want to make. You can also repeat this process on your own and modify the settings.

Hi Des, I’ve just tried the link myself and it works for me. The download should open a new browser window or tab and contain a zip file.

I tried a couple of times again. Same result the window appears and then disappears. I’m using Firefox but I don’t think that should make a difference. I even disabled my internet security, no difference.

I just found that the download is so quick that the window and the download appears for about a 1/4 sec. It downloads auto and does not give you any options where to save it. Now that’s sorted I will give it a try. Thanks for the info.
